Light-based hair removal treatments are safe for all skin types and effective for most hair types. Patients with lighter hair colors (such as light blonde and gray) will see limited results. We can assess your skin and hair to customize treatment to your unique needs. With the MeDioStar, we target the melanin in the hair plus the vasculature that feeds each hair follicle which allows for more effective hair removal, even on lighter hair colors.

Our light-based system delivers a bright flash of light to your skin. Your hair follicle absorbs the light, heats up, and becomes damaged. Over a series of treatments, the hair follicles will continue to be damaged until they no longer produce the unwanted hair.

Most patients need approximately six treatments to achieve desired long-term results. Because hair growth occurs in a cycle, it is important to treat the regrowth every four to six weeks. Annual touch-ups are available for patients but are not always needed.

LASER TATTOO REMOVAL FAQS:

Most patients experience some redness, swelling, and sometimes minor blistering of the skin after a laser treatment. These side effects are temporary and your skin will heal back completely.

The pain is comparative with that of getting the tattoo applied except removal treatments are a fraction of the time. Patients compare the discomfort with that of a rubber band snapping against their skin. For your comfort, we use the Zimmer Cryo 6 cold air device to help numb the skin during treatment.

We cannot say for sure how many sessions it will take to completely remove a tattoo. There are many factors at play like a patients metabolism, type of ink being treated, how much ink is in the skin, etc. On average, patients usually need about 8 treatments to remove a tattoo. Each session has to be scheduled 6-8 weeks apart to help the skin heal and the process of flushing out the ink to complete itself.

In short, no - laser tattoo removal does not scar the skin. However, if previous scarring was already at the site of the tattoo, it will not get rid of that scarring. If there is not scarring, the patients skin will return back to as it was before the tattoo.

Absolutely, selective tattoo removal is easy to accomplish. We can remove as much or as little of the tattoo as the patient would like.
